So I was leaving the Mercy Heart Hospital. You know – the hospital that specializes in heart problems. It’s at this hospital where patients discover that either from family genetics or poor living choices they have to have surgery. As I was leaving I couldn’t help notice a few people in front of the hospital who were smoking! Go figure!
The words of warning on cigarette packages and the words of warnings from doctors and other specialists seem to go unheeded many times. But –to be standing in front of a facility that is trying to repair hearts and smoke?? You’ve got to be kidding!
Before I share God’s word on Sunday’s I often I ask you to quote Deut. 32:47 “These are not idle words –they are my life”. We are saying God’s word is so important, so powerful that they become our life. Yet sometimes, like people smoking in front of a heart hospital, we ignore God’s word and think neglecting it doesn’t matter. Believe me it does matter….a lot!
Let me encourage you to allow God’s word to impact you more than words from the surgeon general on a pack of cigarettes. God’s words are not idle – they are our life!
Can’t wait to see you again!
