It’s no secret. I’m not a dog fan. For those of you who have that canine connection, that I don’t have, I think that’s great! I’m glad you have that four legged creature to take care of and who gives you doggy pleasure. Our daughter Emily has a dog, a ‘YorkiePoo’ – you might check the spelling on that. Emily named her dog ‘Major’. I think she gave him that name to compensate for his small stature. Major is the most needy and manipulative dog I’ve ever seen! When he is picked up by Emily he immediately lays his head on her shoulder just like a kid! I think it’s almost bazaar. Emily picked him up one day and he laid his head on her shoulder and while no one was looking he winked at me – which was to say ‘nan, nanny boo, boo’. Weird right?

One thing that Major has going for him is a very sharp, keen sense of hearing. While he is in the house, with all doors and windows shut he is able to hear when Emily drives up the driveway. It’s crazy! God has given him this sense of hearing that amazes me.

In some ways I wish God would increase our spiritual hearing so that we could hear the cries of those in our community who don’t know Jesus. In a community of some 70,000 you can be assured there are many who cry out in a variety of ways because they’ve never met Jesus personally. If we will ask God to increase our spiritual hearing I believe we will be able to hear the cries of the lost and in some way be able to share with them the good news that is found in Jesus Christ. Let’s join together and begin earnestly asking the Lord to have ears to hear the cries of the lost. Then let’s do what we can to reach them! I know we can make a difference!
